The Beginning
When this book was first published in 2004, the world was not ready.
It wasn't ready for a person in a larger body to be seen as anything other than lazy, undisciplined and unworthy.
It wasn't ready to have its perceptions and beliefs questioned.
It wasn't ready to accept a larger person doing fun things, following their dreams or navigating family, dating and trauma.
Now
While the world is not "there," it's a lot further than it was two decades ago. So I've updated the original version to celebrate the 20th Anniversary, which will be published this year. (subject to change based on my intuition)
The Vision
While the vision for the book, and all of us who find self-acceptance a challenge, is still forming I trust the Universe to put me exactly where I need to be to connect with amazing people and organizations who see the value in valuing all humans - no matter their size, abilities, education, gender, or economic status.
This isn't a book about fatness. It's about the courage it takes to identify and dissolve beliefs that keep us from being who we really are.
