For years, I attempted to follow the advice of a life coach who once told me, “Your problem, staci, is that you go wide and shallow and you’ll never be successful unless you go narrow and deep.”
I can’t believe I bought that.
The truth is, I will always be a person with a myriad of interests, using my talents and skills for what inspires me in the moment. I no longer care about fitting into the mold of what others call “success,” because to me it is following the flow of what moves me NOW.
I will be OK on my deathbed reviewing all of my experiences and accomplishments, regardless of how much money they made me or how many people came along for that particular ride because I did what inspired me.
Living this way has been an uphill battle that left me on the outside looking in more than once. People ask me what I do, and I have no short answer.
I am a sociologist at heart who gets the biggest kick of observing human behavior, including my own, and examining the “why” of our choices. Disguised as a writer, I create novels, articles, short stories, and plays to share what I’ve witnessed.
I am an intrepid researcher and satiate my neurodivergent mind by learning as much as I can about things like nervous system regulation, psychology, and balancing flavors as a cook.
I am Haiku connoisseur and have written hundreds. I developed a new form of this delightful 17-syllable poem as the founder of the Haiku Ninja Collective and use these techniques to teach writers how to find the heart of their stories.
I am a caregiver, a daughter, a friend, a sister and a student of life and choices.
I am a link in the chain of evolution.
I trust you’ll find something here that motivates you to examine your journey and leave the “normal” behind.
